Swimming Pool:
BDI is working with Bandswim on the development of a proposal for a new Banchory swimming pool with Aberdeenshire Council.
Scolty Trails Enhancement:
BDI is working in partnership with Banchory Paths Association in planning and executing the improvementa to the Scolty Hill Paths. More information here.
Banchory Town Hall
BDI continues to investigate the possibility of redeveloping Banchory Town Hall into a 21st Century community facility. A study to examine the potential for further use and viability of community ownership was completed in 2007. More information here.
Banchory Master Plan - Looking to the Future of Banchory
In associatiion with Robert Gordon University, this is an exploration of ideas aimed at developing proposals for the future of Banchory.
KGV Community Project for New Pavilion and additional Pitch Facilities:
BDI is supporting KGV CP in funding applications for a permanent pavilion with eight changing rooms, a social area, kitchen and cafe. More information here.

A tourism marketing initiative in association with Visit Scotland, Aberdeenshire Council, LeysEstate, Raemoir House Hotel, Milton of Crathes, Deeside Railway Preservation Society, Feughside Restaurant; Inchmarlo Golf Club, Banchory Golf Club, Deeside Activity Centre,Picture Nature and Banchory Community Council.
St Ternan’s Fair:
Initiated in 2002 as Banchory’s Golden Jubilee Celebrations the Fair replaced the annual Banchory Gala which had originally been Banchory Games held in honour of St Ternan each year. Now established as one of Aberdeenshire's Heritage Fairs, St Ternans is a celebration of local culture. It offers a range of events for both locals and visitors. More information here.

Organised by BDI and held annually as part of St Ternans Fair.
Banchory Calendar
The calendar features local photographs of Banchory and District taken by local photographers. Sponsored by local businesses, all profits are used to support civic enhancements such as the Christmas Lights.
Bonnie Banchory:
A civic pride project to improve the floral decorations in the Town Centre in association with Aberdeenshire Council, The Scolty Centre and Banchory businesses. Banchory Bag Campaign BDI is supporting this project in its aims to remove plastic bags from the local shopping scene as a step to helping our environment and reducing landfill. The campaign has saved local Banchory retailers the cost of some 2 million plastic bags per year, helping our environment and reducing landfill. More information here.
Walking to Health
A programme of short walks on a weekly basis to enable people to enjoy some gentle exercise in a friendly group. Walking to Health is a project managed by Banchory & DistrictInitiative Ltd with funding from NHS Grampian. More information here.
Garden Sharing Scheme This scheme is for people who enjoy home grown vegetables but either don’t have a big enough garden to grow their own or have a garden that is too big for them to manage. It aims to answer a need.
Banchory Energy Reduction Initiative (BERI)
This project aims to encourage local residents to consider how they can reduce their carbon footprint. The project is in its early stages.
Biodiversity Audit:
A project aimed at identifying areas of natural heritage value around Banchory.

Established in conjunction with the Banchory Community Council as a mechanism for the community to discuss major issues and influence decisions relating to Banchory's future.
