BANCHORY – FUNDING AVAILABLE FOR COMMUNITY FACILITIES


£90,000 of Developer Obligation funding is available for projects in Banchory which either enhance/ create additional capacity at existing community facilities or provide new
community facilities.


Eligible projects might include new bike racks, new paths, new sports facilities or projects which increase the number or range of people who can use existing facilities. The funds can only be used for capital costs (eg. not for staff, running costs or maintenance) and projects should be completed before the end of the 2019/20 financial year. The fund is open to community groups, third sector or public sector organisations and the closing date for applications is Thursday 21 st June, 2018. The applications will be assessed by Banchory Town Team, which is Chaired by Janelle Clark, Aberdeenshire Council Marr Area Manager and includes representatives from local community organisations and Community Planning Partners.

Clarification on whether a project would be eligible in terms of meeting the developer obligation criteria can be provided by Paul Macari, Principal Development Obligations Officer, paul.macari@aberdeenshire.gov.uk and it is recommended that groups seek such guidance before completing the form.
