    Artist in residence Alicia Bruce has been documenting life on the Woodend Barn allotments since January 2014, making photographic portraits of people and place in this unique rural setting. This exhibition tells the stories of those who work on the plots and why they are drawn to work the land. Over the growing year Alicia has met plot holders from all walks of life including retirees, golfers, artists, teachers, shop assistants, oil executives and children who are learning from an early age where their food comes from.     The Nordic Fiddlers Bloc at Woodend Barn

    Live music at Woodend Barn. The Nordic Fiddlers Bloc comprises three master fiddle players from three different and very distinctive Nordic countries. Kevin Henderson from Shetland is no stranger to audiences at Woodend Barn (Fiddlers’ Bid, Boys of the Lough and Session A9), Olav Luksengard Mjelva is an award winning fiddle player from Norway and Anders Hall is an acclaimed exponent of the Swedish fiddle tradition. Skillfully weaving their three traditional styles together, mixed through with liberal servings of humour, this is an evening of high quality, dynamic performance not to be missed by lovers of great fiddle playing.     Music Premier at St Margaret's, Braemar. Aberdeen-based electro acoustic composer Ross Whyte and Glasgow-based folk singer/guitarist/composer Alasdair Roberts collaborate musically for the first time, showcasing work resulting from their sound/Woodend Barn supported residency in Braemar, which gave them an opportunity to explore the history, landscape, folklore and musical heritage of the area.
